FAQ

How long do you play?

The Friendly Neighbourhood Band usually plays two sets of 50 minutes each. With a little notice we can play longer too – with a third set or together with other bands.

How long do set-up and soundcheck take?

For set-up and soundcheck we usually plan one hour of set-up plus 15 minutes of soundcheck. It can be quicker if, for example, drums and amps are provided on site or we streamline our set-up, e.g. with fewer instruments.

Do you bring your own equipment?

We always bring our own instruments and cables, up to the DI box. The sound system and a sound engineer are usually provided by the venue. If there is no sound system on site, we can organise the all-inclusive package with vocal PA and sound engineer – just mention it in your enquiry and we’ll take care of it!

How much stage space do you need?

As a rock band we need a stage of at least 4 × 2.5 metres, ideally plus a drum riser of 2 × 1.5 metres and 30 cm high. For sound engineers on site: we need at least 14 channels, four monitors and one in-ear feed – all details are in the tech rider under Downloads.

Can you play more quietly, e.g. because of noise curfews?

We adapt volume and curfews to your venue by arrangement – from a quiet dinner set to the full rock sound.

Do you play outside Berlin?

Yes, we play not only in Berlin but also in the surrounding area – within roughly 150 kilometres.

Do you charge travel costs?

We only charge travel costs for gigs outside Berlin: usually €0.30 per kilometre. Talk to us if that breaks your budget.

Can you fill a whole evening?

Yes, on request we fill the whole evening together with DJs or friendly bands – one full-evening programme with one contact.

Can we request songs?

We take song requests occasionally and by arrangement. Our strength is our own arrangements of well-known rock and pop hits.

Who registers the gig with GEMA?

The organiser registers the gig with GEMA, the German music rights society. We are happy to enter the songs we played ourselves after the event if you send us the link.

Do you issue an invoice?

Yes, we send you an invoice after the event.
